CLEARWOOD DRIVE RESERVE

Public BBQ

Tucked away on Clearwood Drive, this unassuming reserve proves that sometimes the best discoveries are hiding in plain sight. The BBQ area sits companionably alongside picnic tables, creating that perfect setup where someone else can tend the sausages while you commandeer the shade. What really sets this place apart is the expansive sports oval stretching out beside it - a godsend for families whose children treat sitting still as a personal affront to nature. Parents can actually finish a conversation here while the kids exhaust themselves on proper grass, not some postage-stamp playground. Parking proves mercifully straightforward, which in Melbourne's outer suburbs feels like winning a small lottery. It's the sort of practical, no-nonsense spot that delivers exactly what families need without any unnecessary flourishes.
